Destination of the weekend #2

Welcome to our Destination of the weekendThe Providence Place Mall. The largest mall for hundreds of miles in each direction. Weighing in at a whopping 1,400,000 sq feet, this 24-year-old beaut is complete with 3 full levels- completely encased with retail stores, dining and entertainment !!!

Today we took a last-minute trip to Rhode Island, and decided we might as well stop by “The Providence Place Mall”.

This mall is very different from our last weekend destination, every inch of this place screams DIFFERENT!! or 90’S/2000’s SHOPPING MALL!! Every square foot is occupied by a store, a vendor, a food stand, there is just so much going on in this place! It’s no wonder that this mall is still ranked one of the top malls in America!!

The scenery that surrounds this space, inside and outside is pretty dope too.

If you’re anything like us and you discover that your vehicle won’t clear any of the many 6’7 & 6’8 parking garages, don’t panic!! You are in luck!!
At first, you may think, “This is like putting a shopping Mall in the
middle of Boston.Dumb.”

But low and behold- There are plenty of
on-street, pay-by-meter parking spaces along the road, right alongside the ever
so classy-looking architectural beauty, The Rhode Island
State House
.
*Fun Fact – The RI State House features the 4th largest Structural-Stone Dome in the world!

The Breathtaking, unique views don’t stop there. The Providence Place Mall is surrounded by different types of beauty, and from one side to the other side, it can feel like being in a completely different time and place. From the main road, you see a historic structure, built with brick& stone. Classy, Historic, and lined with great storefronts and a few hidden Mall entrances. To me, this looks/feels like a scene right out of a Fantastic Beasts film

From the highway you see a modernized, city with big bright buildings. The difference between the the view during the day and the view during the night, is night and day.

There are ginormous wall-sized windows everywhere, each one overlooking a different scene of outdoor beauty that stands directly outside of the mall.

Inside, there are glass elevators for people watching — that take you from the main level up, ending at level 2, enclosed elevators that go from Ground level to level 3. There are non-stop moving escalators throughout. They move you from the ground level to the Main level , the main level to the mid-level, and the mid-level to the top level, on one side they are all going upward, and on the other side all going downward.

The escalator sets are on each side of the mall and in the middle of like… … 6 different stores!!! ( the set-up is comparable to Filenes & Filenes Basement, or the old Sears stores/ JCPenny’s with clothes on one level, beauty on the next & lawncare on the bottom). The food court is calculatedly placed smack dab in the middle of the mall, and is lined with all the best international cuisines.

I’ve even read a few articles about secret rooms, apartments and other hidden features of this huge, historic place.

Last weekend, we went to the “Kingston Collection”, and it is a great mall to bring the kids to for a fun filled day. However, there aren’t too many shopping stores inside anymore. This mall has it all. Anything you may need to go to the mall for, you will find here at the Providence Place Mall.

I even found my all-time-favorite store Charlotte Russe!!! which I thought had long gone out of business.

There’s an Auntie Anne’s on at LEAST 2 levels in this place. They’ve got Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Macroon stands, Build a Bear – even the most trendy places like a Boba Tea Stand a Buble tea place AND they’ve got a Dave & Busters on Floor #4!!!

Love Entertainment, shopping and eating too?? Providence Place is the Mall for You!!!

Providence Place has one of the top 10 IMAX theaters in the World !! So if your looking for a hip, fun, exciting, scenic place to take a weekend day trip too, this is the place!!

Hey there! Welcome to The Truth, Love Mommy :] I'm Tmom- an entrepreneurial, mom of 4 , balancing life as a Mom, as a Human, my cleaning business, as well as my recovery & addictions. I'm here for fun; to learn, grow & most importantly, to tell the Truth; [the whole truth & nothing but the truth]. I've been told by many people that I need to start a blog, write a book, or even just a journal, that could one day be published. Throughout COVID, I began really questioning my place, my purpose, in this crazy chaotic World. I'd been a SAHM for close to 10 years, and really lost myself in it. (Which IS Okay) I began making things, creating things; like, personalized Tshirts, cups, tumblrs, decals, etc. in hopes to create a small business out of it. I even gave it a snazzy name, "For Cups Sakes". ( ahh yes Spoonerisms) It wasn't a very quick start up, therefore I turned to blogging / journaling. I want to show people real life stuff. I want to tell daily events in my eyes. I want more perspective, and interaction. I want to know my people, people with like interests and similar stories to share. So Lets hang out, chat, advise, and just "vibe" ;]. Lets share our stories and grow together. Let's be real, like, really real, not just for FB real. Help me on my Journey to Creating a Legacy that's worth Leaving.
